Today I’m thankful for…

… seeing a lot of people in the cemetery remembering their loved ones.

… meeting new friends and seeing how wonderful beings they are.

…. the food that we eat and the clean water we drink.

… letting our kid neighbor win in the Halloween contest

… my beautiful children and for the time we spent with each other

… all the love I see as I pass by our busy street – people holding hands, kissing, giving hugs, warm smiles

… this fine, very relaxing Sunday

… another day to listen to good music and watch cartoons with the kids

… another day to write another wonderful article

… waking up after a good sleep

Love Your Friends

“True friends are like diamonds – bright, beautiful, valuable, and always in style.” ―Nicole Richie

Love your friends. They are the one’s you can lean on when life gets a little bit challenging. When you’re heartbroken, a friend is enough to help you heal. The only people who can understand you and the things you go through. The time they share with you when you needed them. These are the everyday events we should be grateful for.

Even if you’re far from each other, keep them close by constantly messaging them. And when you’re together laugh as much as you can. Share wonderful memories together. Life, you see is about making wonderful relationships. Some may not be as good as the others. But the important thing is, we connect to one another and at the same time, we keep the friends who never leave our side.

One good Quote

Being strong doesn’t mean you have to stay and fight all the battles and petty arguments that come your way. Being strong means you don’t have to stay and respond to rude remarks. Don’t retort by throwing insults back at them. It’s what they want. Keep your dignity and don’t lower yourself to their level. True strength is being adult enough to walk away from the nonsense with your head held high. ~Unknown

At last, I was able to go to McKinley Hill (my basang basa sa ulan moment)

Seeing McKinley Hill in the night time is romantic. I haven’t been to any of the restaurants but going around the area during heavy rains tell me that the place is wonderful to see during the daytime (without the rain of course). Working home based for the last two years had made me more appreciative of the places I haven’t been to which includes McKinley, The Fort, and so on . Coming out exploring away from the comforts of my home made me realize that there’s a lot of beautiful places to see in Metro Manila. I like the facade of SM Aura but that’s along Market Market. I was enjoying the view while looking for a ride going to McKinley Hill when suddenly the heavy rains fell down on me. And just to make this experience more enjoyable I started singing “Basang-Basa sa ulan” by Aegis. I was smiling when the rain becomes so heavy that half of my jeans are so wet and my poor shoes were filled with water. What an adventure! I told myself,  one very important lesson I learned tonight is the fact that it’s very difficult to travel when you are in the night shift. The small issues we have to face when we commute going to work, and one of them is walking through heavy rains. But seeing how wonderful the place is and as I try to envision myself working for one of the companies there, I guess it will be all worth it.
